Since 2018

Three mates, one local café.

Back in 2018, three mates with a shared love of Aussie coffee culture opened Tucker in the heart of Casuarina. Eight years on, Phil and Dale are still serving up quality coffee, hearty food and plenty of good vibes, a stone's throw from the beach.

Coffee from Loma, bread from Bread Social, produce from Jensens and free-range proteins from Meat Merchant Casuarina. Good people, all of them.

Guide

What to do around the Tweed

Grab a coffee, then make a day of it. Everything here is a short drive from Tucker.

Walk Norries Headland: An 800-metre return boardwalk around the headland at Cabarita Beach. Then a swim.
Ride the Northern Rivers Rail Trail: The Tweed section runs 24km from Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek, on sealed and compacted gravel paths with old rail bridges and tunnels along the way.
See the Margaret Olley Art Centre: At the Tweed Regional Gallery in Murwillumbah. Entry is free, and it's open 10 to 4, Wednesday to Sunday.

Where your dog can be off-leash

Four beaches on the Tweed coast, in council's own wording. Some maps online still have them the wrong way round.

South Kingscliff: From the Salt residential boundary north to the Cudgen Creek rockwall.
South Cabarita: 200m south of Norries Headland to 1km north of Cudgera Creek.
South Fingal Head: From the Murphys Road access to 0.5km south of it.
South Pottsville: 200m south of the main bathing area to 200m north of Black Rocks.

No dogs at all: Cudgera Creek, Hastings Point. The whole estuary and foreshore. It's home to the beach stone-curlew, one of roughly 16 left in NSW.

What should I order?: You can't go past the rosti benedict. Two herbed potato rostis, poached eggs, house hollandaise and a topping of your choice. It's gluten free, and there's a half serve for 15.5.
When does the kitchen close?: The kitchen runs 7:30am to 1pm every day. Coffee keeps going until 2pm.
Can I order ahead?: Absolutely. Order pickup online and we'll have it ready at the counter.
Is there a kids' menu?: Little Tucker is for under 12s: pancakes with maple, fried chicken bites with chips, avo or eggs on toast, from 8.
Do you do gluten free?: The rosti benedict is gluten free, and gluten-free bread is available on most dishes for 3.
Can I change a dish?: We keep the menu as written, so no substitutions, sorry! There are plenty of sides and add-ons to make it your own.
